For much of his professional life, retired Dr. Melvin Rabin combined clinical practice with teaching and public education. Dr. Melvin Rabin established his clinical psychology practice in 1973 and maintained a private practice in Needham, Massachusetts, for decades. Through Rabin Associates, worked with patients facing complex psychological concerns and relationship difficulties.
Dr. Rabin earned a doctor of education in psychology from Boston University and has lectured at Harvard University and several Boston-area hospitals. Over the years, he pursued advanced training in therapeutic approaches, including Gestalt therapy and EMDR. He also became involved in the professional training of other psychologists, particularly those treating trauma.
Outside his professional interests, Dr. Rabin has pursued an active life. He completed the Boston Marathon and an Ironman triathlon. He enjoys time with his wife, children, and grandchildren while continuing to follow the subjects that have interested him throughout his career, including the growing role of artificial intelligence in medicine.
